PHARMACIST

Chris is a palliative oncology clinical pharmacist with advanced prescribing authority (APA) with the Complex Cancer Pain and Symptom Management Service at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre in Calgary. He is a guest lecturer with MUN School of Pharmacy. He has presented at national and international conferences on topics such as: innovative pharmacist practice, cancer pain management, apps for patients and healthcare professionals, future technologies in healthcare, social media in healthcare, and innovative patient-pharmacists communication ideas. 

 

FUTURIST

Chris is the pharmacist futurist, a healthcare professional geek who envisions the impact of digital health technologies on the future of healthcare. His bold goal is to help patients, professionals, government regulators, and companies move from healthcare tech science fiction to making it a reality. He has a keen interest in the integration of technology into clinical practice, as well as the intersection of healthcare with social media. Chris has completed courses such as The Emerging Future: Technology Issues and Trends from San Jose State University.

 

SCIENTIST

Chris is not your traditional scientist. Rather, he is an award-winning  clinical pharmacy research scientistwho  is constantly exploring and experimenting with creative and innovative ideas on how to most efficiently and effectively impact patients and practitioners alike. He has completed courses from Stanford University and Johns Hopkins University in areas such as mobile health, big data, medical education in the new millennium. Chris is a fellow of the Canadian Association of Pharmacy in Oncology (FCAPhO) which honours excellence in oncology pharmacy practice.
